Job summary

Wake Forest University’s Athletics Department seeks an Assistant Athletic Director, Business Operations to lead accounting and financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements. This role partners with the CFO, athletics staff, and university offices to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely information for decision-making and external audits.

The position requires a CPA or equivalent experience, solid GAAP knowledge, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration with at least five years of accounting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and strong accounting background.
• Experience with budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting.
• Ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience supervising staff and meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze internal financial reports and statements.
• Support budget preparation, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Coordinate annual EADA/NCAA reports and year-end audits.
• Develop and implement process improvements, including AI usage.
• Assist with journal entries, transfers, and reconciliations.
