Job summary

Wright State University seeks an Assistant Finance & Business Operations Manager (Athletics & Recreation) to lead financial analysis and operational oversight for Athletics and Campus Recreation. The role focuses on budgeting, compliance, and process improvements in collaboration with the Finance and Business Operations Manager.

The position also leads training for supervisors, coaches, and staff on financial procedures, travel, and risk management, while coordinating with Athletics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business by start date with a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance; OR associate’s degree in business by start date and 7 years of accounting/finance experience; OR 10 or more years accounting/finance experience in lieu of degree.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, remain organized, prioritize work, and apply a high level of attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across departments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Financial Operations, Processing, and Oversight - ensure financial transactions are processed in compliance and efficiently.
• Policy Compliance, Training, and Process Improvement - develop and deliver training on financial procedures, purchasing, travel, and compliance.
• Reconciliation, Analysis, and Reporting - reconcile transactions and prepare financial reports and projections.
• Budget Support and Financial Planning - assist with budget development, monitoring, and forecasting across Athletics.
• Personnel Coordination - assist with PAFs, EPAFs, and payroll coordination.
