Job summary

Wake Forest University is seeking an Assistant Athletic Director, Business Operations, to oversee a broad range of accounting and business operations within the Department of Athletics’ Business Office.

The role will analyze financial results, support budgeting and forecasting, and coordinate external financial reporting including audits, while implementing process improvements and AI-enabled automation where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration and at least five years of accounting experience.
• Experience in public accounting and the CPA designation strongly desired.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and analyzes internal reports for Athletics, including monthly financial statements, gift funds, compensation, and other needed reports.
• Assists in budgeting and forecasting, including coordination with Budget Office for inputs and forecasts.
• Monitors financial results and investigates variances with Business Office staff.
• Leads annual EADA and NCAA reporting and coordinates year-end audit activities.
• Prepares financial analyses and presentations for Athletics CFO and leadership.
