Job summary

Virginia Tech Athletics is seeking a Sr. Assoc. AD / Business Operations to lead daily financial activities in the athletic department. You will manage budgeting, planning, procurement, and reporting while guiding affiliated groups and business services staff.

The role requires strategic financial leadership, strong communication, and proven supervisory capability to support university executives and stakeholders. Nights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business/accounting or related field with significant experience, or a master's degree.
• Ability to build and implement strategic financial plans and communicate to senior university leaders.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Proven leadership and supervisory abilities.
• Expertise in financial planning, management, and analysis for senior leadership support.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with Excel expertise.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse coworkers, students, and external representatives.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day fiscal activities including budgeting and financial planning.
• Conduct analysis, procurement, and financial reporting.
• Provide support to affiliated organizations and oversee business services staff.
• Oversee workflow and ensure coordination of finance-related functions.
