About Marie Philip School:
MPS enrolls nearly 200 deaf and hard of hearing students on our Framingham, MA campus in an ASL/English bilingual, bicultural educational model.
About Walden School:
Walden School is a nationally-recognized residential therapeutic and education program for deaf children and youth ages 8 to 22 who have often experienced significant adverse childhood events as well as language deprivation.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Athletics Director is primarily responsible for directing and coordinating all activities of the Athletics Department. The Director ensures the education of athletes is in alignment with The Learning Center for the Deaf’s mission statement.
SUPERVISOR: Director of Student Services
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide supervision, guidance, and a safe environment for TLC athletics and after school programs.
Preparing budgets and allocating spending on items related to athletic programs.
Manage athletic staff and all activities/events related.
Collaborate with athletic associations, leagues, and officials related to all aspects of their role with TLC.
Determine the time allocated for athletic related activities and events.
Ensure transportation arrangements are communicated and managed in a timely manner.
Record keeping and data collection related to athletic programs and activities.
Coordinate athletic clinics and strength/conditioning programs.
Ensure compliance and legal requirements to maintain a safe environment at all times.
May be delegated and trained to conduct medication administration or certain medical procedure responsibilities for students.
Physical activity and lifting may be required when working with TLC students, however, TLC embraces and celebrates a spirit of inclusion and diversity, and reasonable accommodations and modifications will be made whenever possible. The diversity of our student population may require that some assignments have a heavier physical responsibility due to safety.
Required to travel, attend athletic related events, and drive students to tournaments and games. Additional driving responsibilities as needed.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the Department Supervisor and/or Program Leader.
