Job summary

Sonoma State University seeks a Director of Development for Athletics to lead fundraising strategies and cultivate major gifts for the Intercollegiate Athletics Program. You will identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit donors, communicate with supporters, steward alumni and sponsors, and coordinate gift processing.

The role requires at least four years of successful donor relations experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and a track record in university athletics fundraising.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years of experience in successful relationship building with prospects, volunteers, and board members.
• Proven track record in face-to-face fundraising and securing gifts.
• Experience designing and implementing fundraising strategies in an athletics context preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, qualify, cultivate and solicit potential donors for the Athletics Program.
• Organize and communicate effectively with donors and prospects.
• Stool alumni and other donors, coordinate gift processing, and engage volunteers.
