Stephen F. Austin State University seeks a seasoned athletics compliance professional to direct a comprehensive program ensuring NCAA, conference, and university adherence across all varsity sports and related areas.

The role interprets NCAA rules, monitors activities, and provides guidance to student-athletes, coaches, and staff, reporting to the Director of Athletics. Strong collaboration and strategic policy development are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in sports management, athletics administration, physical education, recreation, education, or a related field is required.
Master’s degree in a related field is preferred.
Two years of related experience is required.
Experience with NCAA intercollegiate athletics is required.
Experience with NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletics is preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day compliance responsibilities with departmental staff, coaches, student-athletes, and other constituents.
Ensure processes and systems comply with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules for varsity programs.
Manage tracking and distribution of student-athlete awards and aid during the academic year.
Monitor student-athlete awards and benefits.
Prepare paperwork regarding student-athletes’ amateur status.
Develop and implement athletics compliance policies and procedures.
Research NCAA rules and provide interpretations to coaches and staff.
Coordinate with the conference office and NCAA for rule interpretations as needed.
Prepare reports for departmental senior administration review.
Uphold integrity of NCAA, conference, and department values.
