Job summary

University of Michigan-Dearborn seeks a highly motivated Assistant Athletics Director of Compliance & Adventure Programming to lead compliance and manage the department's Adventure programming. You will work with NAIA, ACHA, and conference bodies to certify eligibility, supervise staff and coaches, and ensure regulatory adherence while supporting student-athlete success and enrollment growth.

The role reports to the Director of Athletics and Recreation and involves overseeing data collection,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities.
• Thorough knowledge of NAIA, WHAC, and ACHA rules.
• Background check must be completed.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Budgetary and supervisory experience.
• Certifications in high ropes/rock climbing and CPR/AED within six months.

Responsibilities

• Oversee athletics compliance with NAIA, ACHA, and conference rules.
• Manage data collection and reporting for department statistics.
• Verify student-athlete academic progress and eligibility.
• Supervise staff, coaches, and intercollegiate programs.
• Oversee the Adventure program operations, safety inspections, and staffing.
• Support student-athlete services and club sports administrative tasks.
• Provide rules interpretation and education to coaches and staff.
• Coordinate compliance checks and regulatory measures across the department.
• Attend meetings and collaborate with department leadership.
