Work Schedule, Hours per week: Nights and Weekends, up to 12 hours per week

Opportunity for hybrid schedule: No

Starting Salary Range: $15.68-$17.18 and determined based on relevant years of work experience provided on application and resume.

Position Summary

The Part-Time Athletic Driver provides safe, dependable, and timely transportation for student-athletes, coaches, and athletic staff to and from scheduled sports events, tournaments, and off‑site practices. Operating on an as‑needed, seasonal basis that aligns directly with the academic and sports calendars, this role serves as a vital operational support link for the athletic department. The incumbent is a professional representative of the institution, ensuring strict adherence to travel schedules and road safety regulations while fostering a supportive environment for the team.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
• Minimum of two years of professional driving experience.
• Must be able to pass a background check and complete all JCCC-required training.
• Must have night and weekend availability, including the ability to drive at night.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in student leadership, campus involvement, or event planning
• Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Position details include but are not limited to

• Safe Transport: Provide safe, reliable transportation to and from events for coaches and student-athletes.
• Safety and Vehicle Care: Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle safety inspections (checking fluid levels, tires, lights, and brakes). Ensure the vehicle is clean and fueled up
• Route Planning: Route Planning: Map out the "safest / fastest route to your destination," accounting for traffic and weather.
• Team Liaison: Act as a professional representative of the athletic department, communicating effectively with the athletic director, coaches, parents, and venue staff.
• Punctuality: Be present at the "team meeting spot 30 minutes prior to departure" and maintain a strict schedule so teams arrive on time for warm-ups.
• Other duties as assigned: Duties and responsibilities, as required by business necessity, may be updated at any time at the discretion of management.
