Job summary

Virginia Tech is seeking a Director of Athletic Facilities to lead the daily operations, maintenance, and readiness of athletic facilities. You will act as the lead decision maker in the absence of other Athletic Facilities Directors within the Department of Athletics.

You will coordinate with campus partners to ensure safety, cleanliness, and proper functionality during events, while overseeing staffing, deferred maintenance planning, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in facilities management or related field with significant experience.
• Experience managing facilities and coordinating events.
• Ability to lead and organize staff to meet strategic goals.
• Experience in budgeting, inventory management, and resource allocation.
• Excellent communication as liaison between coaches and administration.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operation, maintenance, and readiness of selected athletic facilities.
• Coordinate with campus partners to ensure safety, cleanliness, and functionality.
• Direct facility management staff and plan event staffing.
• Develop deferred maintenance plans and support strategic planning.
• Oversee purchasing, expenses, and training related to facility procedures.
