Job summary

George Mason University is seeking an Assistant Director, Facilities Services to lead daily maintenance for the Field House and adjacent spaces. You will supervise a team, coordinate event setups, and ensure safe, well-kept athletic facilities for 500+ student-athletes and staff.

The role requires strong communication, budgeting insight, and a proactive approach to preventative maintenance across indoor and outdoor spaces, including grounds and equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred for related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience supervising facilities staff and managing maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

• Directs day-to-day maintenance of Field House and surrounding facilities.
• Coordinates with coaches and staff for branded Mason Athletics environments.
• Supervises setup and breakdown of equipment for events and rentals.
• Maintains vehicles and equipment; oversees preventative maintenance programs.
• Directs 10–15 part-time staff; schedules and assigns daily work.
