Job summary

KemperSports is seeking a General Manager for a premier indoor/outdoor sports complex in Amherst, NY. This role oversees day‑to‑day operations, staff leadership, budgets, and programming to deliver high‑quality experiences for athletes and visitors.

You will drive revenue, ensure safety standards, and foster partnerships with local schools and partners while guiding continuous improvements and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, sports management, or related field.
• Proven experience in sports facility management or similar leadership role for indoor/outdoor facilities.
• Experience operating a facility with revenue around $1M+.
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Knowledge of various sports and facility requirements.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proficiency with business and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: oversee daily facility operations and policy implementation.
• Team Management: recruit, train, supervise staff and coaches; foster collaboration.
• Financial Management: develop budgets, control costs, identify sponsorships and revenue opportunities.
• Facility Maintenance: ensure cleanliness and upkeep of all facilities.
• Programming and Events: plan and execute sports programs, leagues, and events.
• Regulatory Compliance: ensure safety standards and permits compliance.
• Marketing and Promotion: attract athletes, teams, spectators via digital/traditional channels.
• Community Engagement: build ties with local schools and organizations.
• Continuous Improvement: identify enhancements and monitor industry trends.
• Data Analysis and Reporting: collect and report on sales, feedback, market trends.
• Client / Community Relations: maintain client relations and communication with stakeholders.
