Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Store Manager - Sales (Sport & Outdoor) to lead the sales and athlete engagement within Sport & Outdoor, coaching teams to deliver expert service and knowledge. You will drive performance through strong leadership and executing key selling strategies, helping athletes find the right gear.

You will play a key role in merchandising, training, staffing, and customer experience to ensure a high-performing, inclusive team and an outstanding athlete

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1-3 years of experience is required.
• 1-3 years of retail management experience (or customer-focused experience) is required.

Responsibilities

• Contributes to developing and executing annual growth plans with the Store Manager.
• Directly manages Captains and coaches the broader store team.
• Upholds merchandising standards and executes floor sets and promotions.
• Leads training initiatives and develops leaders through hands-on coaching.
• Partners with Store Manager on staffing, payroll, and scheduling.
• Involves hiring decisions for Captain level and supervises hourly staff hiring.
• Ensures safety, compliance, and respectful store environment.
