About the Resort

The Kingston Resorts is a 145 acre oceanfront resort on the north‑end of Myrtle Beach, less than 2 miles from Tanger Outlets and a short 20‑minute trip to Broadway at the Beach. Position Overview

The Assistant Banquet Manager oversees set‑up, food and beverage service, clean‑up, and preparation for all food and beverage functions to ensure the highest quality standards are met. The role includes controlling labor through scheduling and overseeing payroll in the Banquet Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with planning, organizing, and executing all food and beverage functions.
  • Hire, train, supervise, and schedule food and beverage staff.
  • Supervise food and beverage set‑up and clean‑up.
  • Greet clients in charge and respond to requests.
  • Speak at roll‑call meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectations.
  • Attend all managers meetings on a weekly basis.
  • Utilize computer equipment.
  • Maintain regular attendance in conformance with standards.
  • Shop competitive hotel operations to stay abreast of marketing techniques and promotions.
  • Supervise general cleaning tasks using standard hotel products to adhere to health standards.
  • Abide by all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations regarding service of alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
  • Coordinate with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary for minute changes.
  • Perform duties of line employees as needed under high volume and emergency situations.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently to interact with staff.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
  • Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
  • Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods while maintaining professionalism.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stressful situations during busy periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and lift lighter objects overhead.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions.
