Job summary

UrgentVet Hospitals in the Virginia Beach area is seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join our urgent care team. This full-time role offers care for canine and feline patients after-hours with a focus on wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia.

The position supports a flexible swing/second-shift schedule in a modern, paperless clinic equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and IDEXX in-house labs. State licensing and AVMA continuing education are supported.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of ECFVG or PAVE) is required.
• Active license in good standing to practice in the employing state or ability to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Serve patients and clients with a relationship-based approach.
• Collaborate and engage with the clinical team and leadership.
• Grow relationships within the practice and the Virginia Beach community.
• Encourage the growth of support staff through internal LevelUp training.
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during open hours.

UrgentVet bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the Virginia Beach, Virginia area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.
