Job summary

UrgentVet in Richmond, Virginia seeks an experienced DVM for our Carytown urgent care clinic. The role focuses on urgent canine and feline care, after-hours coverage, wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia in a fast-paced, paperless environment with cloud EMR and in-house IDEXX labs.

Qualifications

• DVM/VMD degree from AVMA-accredited college.
• Active veterinary license in good standing (or ability to obtain in the state).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Serve urgent care patients with a relationship-based approach.
• Collaborate with clinical team and leadership.
• Grow relationships within the Richmond community and practice levels.
• Support staff development through internal LevelUp training.
• Manage varying caseloads including surgeries and open-hour appointments.

UrgentVet Carytown bridges the gap between daytime general practice and emergency/overnight care in the Richmond, Virginia area. We offer after-hours care for canine and feline patients without the additional expense of emergency clinic fees. Our single-doctor shifts offer care for common urgent cases, including wound management, ear infections, vomiting/diarrhea, and euthanasia. Each of our paperless clinics is specially designed to deliver efficient care and equipped with cloud-based EMR, digital x-ray, and a full suite of IDEXX in-house lab equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve patients and clients with a relationship-based approach
• Collaborate and engage with the clinical team and leadership
• Grow relationships within the practice and the Richmond community
• Encourage the growth of support staff members through our internal LevelUp training program
• Manage a varying caseload, including surgeries and appointments during our open hours

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise

• DVM/VMD degree from an AVMA accredited college (or successful completion of the ECFVG or PAVE program)
• Active license in good standing to practice in the state in which candidate will be employed (or the ability to obtain a license in that state)
