Job summary

CRC Group in Boca Raton, FL seeks an Associate Underwriter to support underwriters in evaluating and servicing business. You will apply rating and risk assessment principles, underwrite new and renewal business, and build expertise toward independent risk evaluation and execution.

Responsibilities include reviewing submissions, endorsements, and policy details, maintaining compliance with guidelines, and fostering strong client and internal partner relationships to drive production and quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent insurance-related experience preferred.
  • Experience in wholesale insurance including underwriting, rating, or account servicing.
  • Career progression towards greater underwriting authority and independent decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite new and renewal business within established guidelines.
  • Review submissions, inspection reports, and policy details for accuracy.
  • Manage account servicing activities including endorsements, audits, cancellations, and changes.
  • Monitor accounts for policy adherence to underwriting guidelines.
  • Develop relationships with clients and internal partners to support growth.
  • Provide guidance to underwriting support staff and ensure output quality.

The Associate Underwriter supports Underwriters in the evaluation, selection, and servicing of business while developing the technical expertise required for independent underwriting. This role underwrites new and renewal business, applies rating and risk assessment principles, and ensures compliance with company guidelines and procedures. The core function of this role centers on building underwriting capability, managing account activity, and progressively taking on greater ownership of risk evaluation and execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Underwrite new and renewal business, including evaluating risk, conducting rating, and determiningappropriate placementwithin established guidelines
  • Review submissions, inspection reports, and policy details to ensure accuracy and alignment with underwriting and risk expectations
  • Manage account servicing activities, including endorsements, audits, cancellations, and policy changes while ensuring compliance with company standards
  • Monitor assigned accounts to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and underwriting guidelines
  • Develop andmaintainstrong relationships with clients and internal partners while supporting production and business growth objectives
  • Provide guidance and direction to underwriting support staff, including reviewing work and ensuring quality and accuracy of output

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent insurance-related experience preferred
  • Experience within wholesale insurance, including underwriting, rating, or account servicing responsibilities

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Current state-specific insurance licensepreferred.Additionalprofessional designations may be pursued to support technical development and career progression.

FUNCTIONAL SKILLS

  • Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting principles, and risk evaluation techniques
  • Ability to analyze policy structures, inspection reports, and exposure data to inform underwriting decisions
  • Knowledge of rating methodologies and market placement strategies
