Job summary

CRC Group is seeking a capable Underwriter to support underwriting functions and often act on behalf of the Underwriter. You will underwrite new and renewal business, approve policy changes, and manage workload in line with company guidelines and CRC procedures.

The role requires a college degree or insurance experience, and a minimum of three years in wholesale insurance with a state license. You will work in a collaborative team, striving to meet production goals and maintain policy compliance.

Qualifications

  • College degree or appropriate insurance experience.
  • Three years of wholesale insurance experience or its equivalent; current state specific license required.
  • Must commit a minimum of three years to the Program.
  • Ability to understand and analyze necessary components of insurance policies.
  • Knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting and rating.
  • Ability to use company automation to include Windows, Delphi, Word, DocuCorp, Rackley ISO Rating Software.
  • Ability to develop, foster, and maintain an excellent working relationship with clients.
  • Ability to work in a team environment essential.
  • Ability to maintain current knowledge of the insurance industry.
  • Good written and verbal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Rating independently relying on knowledge of where to place business.
  • Review and process policy servicing requests (endorsement, audits, Company requests, Certificates, Premium Finance Notices and Cancellations, etc).
  • Review inspection reports and compare to conditions represented at binding and take actions with the agent.
  • Proof policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc and make corrections as appropriate; instruct underwriting staff.
  • Maintain necessary licenses to produce business.

Supports Underwriter with all job functions and often performs some duties on behalf of the Underwriter. Underwrites new and renewal business, approves policy changes, maintains workload and controls written business up to and including the time of binding according to company guidelines and established Starwind and CRC procedures without direct supervision on each item.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop, cultivate and maintain excellent client relationships.

  • Underwrite new and renewal business without direct supervision.
  • Is an important asset of the underwriter to meet and exceed production goals as assigned by Management.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure compliance with company's policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Rating independently relying on knowledge of where to place business.
  • Review and process policy servicing requests (endorsement, audits, Company requests, Certificates, Premium Finance Notices and Cancellations, etc).

  • Proof policies, endorsements, audits, cancellations, etc and make corrections as appropriate. Provide necessary instruction to Underwriting Assistants and Technical Assistants.
