This role also includes an exciting opportunity to represent us on site for a large-scale construction project in New York City.

Your key duties

• Set a strong example of client care and general consultancy and support the regional team to do the same.
• Represent us at design team meetings, both internally and externally, providing project leadership and taking responsibility for sustained and productive client relationships across the region.
• Represent us on site for a large-scale construction project in New York City. Work will include conducting site observations, participating in site meetings and responding directly to contractor queries in the field.
• Lead the analysis and design of structural systems for a wide range of building types in accordance with applicable building codes.
• Manage and mentor engineering and drafting staff whilst overseeing the preparation of contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Participate in project technical/quality reviews.
• Develop our structural engineering reputation as the best in class across a range of size and project types in region.
• Represent us externally by engaging in local industry groups or events that align with the NY Structures team’s goals.

Your skills and experience

• 10+ years of significant experience leading structural engineering projects or teams across a variety of sectors.
• Experience leading structural engineering projects during construction phase.
• Master’s Degree
• Licensed as PE and / or SE
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including senior management, clients, and company-wide staff.
• Confident, proactive character, with a track record of taking the lead.
• Proven track record of client relationship management and project delivery.
• Strong interest in work-winning.
