Job summary

Liberty Personnel Services, Inc. seeks a seasoned structural engineering leader to oversee the design through construction of flagship NYC projects.

You will guide complex structures, manage client relationships, and drive coordination across design and field teams. The role requires a PE/SE license and a track record of steering projects through construction with rigorous code compliance, mentoring junior staff, and delivering buildable drawings and specifications.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience leading structural engineering projects or teams.
• Proven experience leading structural projects during construction.
• PE/SE license required.
• Ability to elicit cooperation from internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and clients.
• Demonstrated success in client relationship management and project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex structures from design through construction while keeping clients confident and projects on track.
• Perform site observations and respond to contractor queries during construction.
• Provide client-facing project leadership and coordination with design teams.

Job description

You’ll be at the center of complex building projects and a flagship New York City construction site:

• Structural systems for a wide range of building types
• Regional structural engineering projects across multiple sectors
• Contract documents including drawings and specifications
• Project technical and quality reviews
• Client-facing design and coordination meetings
• Industry and professional groups aligned with the NY structures market

You’ll work across building codes, project delivery frameworks, and construction-phase coordination to ensure structural systems perform on paper and on site.

Your core challenge: lead complex structures from design through construction while keeping clients confident and projects on track.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years of significant experience leading structural engineering projects or teams across a variety of sectors
• Proven experience leading structural engineering projects during the construction phase
• Licensed as a PE and/or SE Required
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior management and clients
• Confident, proactive character with a track record of taking the lead
• Demonstrated success in client relationship management and project delivery
• Strong interest in work-winning and supporting business growth

You’ve been the go-to structural lead on complex building projects, especially once shovels hit the ground. You’re comfortable walking a site in the morning, resolving a contractor RFI on the spot, then stepping into a design team meeting to steer strategy and keep the client aligned.

You balance rigor in analysis and code compliance with practical constructability, and you know how to coach junior engineers and drafters to deliver clean, buildable documents. You’re active in the local industry, and you like being out in front representing the structural discipline.
