Job summary

Talent Search Pro in New York seeks a senior structural engineering leader to guide design and delivery across varied building types. You will mentor staff, oversee contract documents, and maintain strong client relationships on regional projects.

You will represent our client on site for a large-scale NYC construction project, lead design reviews, coordinate with design teams, and drive best-in-class performance through every phase.

Qualifications

• 10 years of significant experience leading structural engineering projects or teams across a variety of sectors.
• Experience leading structural engineering projects during construction phase.
• Master’s Degree required.
• Licensed as PE and/or SE.
• Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders including senior management, clients, and company-wide staff.
• Confident, proactive character with a track record of taking the lead.
• Proven track record of client relationship management and project delivery.
• Strong interest in work-winning.

Responsibilities

• Represent our client at design team meetings, both internally and externally, providing project leadership and taking responsibility for sustained and productive client relationships across the region.
• Represent our client on site for a large-scale construction project in New York City. Work will include conducting site observations, participating in site meetings and responding directly to contractor queries in the field.
• Lead the analysis and design of structural systems for a wide range of building types in accordance with applicable building codes.
• Manage and mentor engineering and drafting staff whilst overseeing the preparation of contract documents, including drawings and specifications.
• Participate in project technical/quality reviews.
• Develop the reputation of our client structural engineering as the best in class across a range of size and project types in region.
• Represent our client externally by engaging in local industry groups or events that align with the NY Structures team’s goals.
