Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking team members to support patient accounts across multiple clinic locations. You will resolve patient account issues accurately and timely, gather information for complete financial and demographic records, and assist with insurance verification and prior authorizations.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.
  • 0-3 years Customer Service/Medical experience desired.
  • Minimum one-year medical office experience or combination of extensive customer service work experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration and medical terminology preferred.
  • Requires basic proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, TEAMS).

Responsibilities

  • Accurate and timely resolution of patient accounts.
  • Collecting information to generate complete and accurate financial and demographic records.
  • Insurance verification, prior authorization, and coordination of benefits.
  • Communicating with payers and patients to confirm financial information.
  • Accurate patient registration and scheduling of recurring appointments.
  • Answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately.
  • Participating in departmental operations and performance‑improvement activities.
  • Complying with infection control, equipment training, regulatory standards, and safety programs.
  • Ordering, distributing, and maintaining department supplies.
  • Meeting productivity, quality, and service standards to support departmental goals.

Schedule
  • Float‑Full Time*

Monday‑Thursday 7:15am‑6:15pm

Friday 7:15am‑4:15pm

As a float, there may be last‑minute changes to shift times or assigned locations based on staffing needs.

Work Location

9 clinic locations; focused most on East/South/Eagle Highlands clinics.

  • Must be flexible to work any location
