Job summary

Gene B. Glick Company seeks a Property Manager/Assistant Manager for our Indianapolis portfolio. You will support move-ins/moves-outs, renewals, and certification processing, while maintaining strong resident relations and marketing efforts.

The role requires overseeing property conditions, scheduling improvements, and ensuring compliance with HUD/fair housing regulations. Travel across properties and weekend availability may be necessary.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-4 years experience in residential/commercial property management.
  • Experience with affordable programs and HUD/Section 8 guidelines is a plus.
  • Strong marketing and administrative capabilities; flexible to work across properties.

Responsibilities

  • Process monthly EIV reports and file securely.
  • Process special claims and assist with move-ins/outs, certifications, renewals.
  • Support marketing surveys and resident relations program.
  • Show, lease and process applications for potential residents.
  • Assist Property Manager in training staff and achieving property benchmarks.
  • Inspect property and schedule improvements/repairs.
  • Complete and submit reports and documents to comply with Company and HUD standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HUD and Fair Housing regulations.

Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Process monthly EIV reports and save in secured document files.
  • Process special claims.
  • Assist with completing move-ins, move-outs, certifications, and renewals.
  • Assist with regularly conducting marketing surveys.
  • Implement positive resident relations program for the community.
  • Show, lease and complete application processing for potential residents.
  • Assist Property Manager in training and developing team members to achieve property benchmarks.
  • Inspect the property regularly and schedule improvements and repairs.
  • Complete and submit, timely and accurately, all records, reports and documents required by the Company and federal or state agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with all HUD and Fair Housing regulations.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in the management of residential or commercial facilities as Manager or Assistant Manager.
  • Experience with the following affordable program, if applicable to the hiring property: Conventional/Market, Section 8 Family, Section 8 Elderly, Tax Credit, RAD, Home, and the IRS’s Safe Harbor guidelines.
  • Experience with PC based word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Demonstrated supervisory potential.
  • Must have strong marketing and administrative skills and be flexible to work at many different properties.
  • High energy and an ability to work well with others is a must.
  • Able to work a varied schedule including weekends.
  • Must be able to travel overnight as needed.
  • Must be willing to travel for training and meetings.
  • Must have reliable transportation as travel throughout the portfolio will be necessary.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Driver’s License in the state of residence.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate ability to read and comprehend the English language.
  • Fluent in Spanish is a plus.
