Job summary

Ourvita, a global contract manufacturer, seeks an Associate Production Supervisor for night shifts in a nutritional supplement environment. This role oversees daily production activities, enforces GMPs, and drives safety, quality, and efficiency on the floor.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience, preferably in a food, pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement or a dry products company in a lead or supervisory role.
• Experience working with automated manufacturing.
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support Supervisor in day-to-day operations of assigned area or workgroup to ensure organizational objectives are met.
• Promote communication and teamwork across shifts / crews.
• Assist the management team to provide orientation and training of employees.
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure proper functioning.
• Ensure that all required documentation for production records is completed according to policies.
• Assist with oversight of production lines across the platforms/value stream to ensure efficient operations.
• Train line leads and line employees on safety, GMPs, SOPs, and job expectations.
• Fill in as back-up Supervisor when needed.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned area or workgroup to meet objectives.

Schedule:
Monday to Thursday, 4:20 PM to 2:50 AM
The Associate Production Supervisor supports leadership for the Production department via rigorous application of Amerilab processes and is present on the floor 75% of the day. This role is responsible for day-to-day supervision of the team of employees who perform specific tasks as part of operations activities in a nutritional supplement manufacturing environment. Responsible for communicating expectations, building accountability and delivering desired results in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Support Supervisor in day-to-day operations of assigned area or workgroup to ensure organizational and objectives are met.

• Assist the management team to provide orientation and training of employees.

• Train line leads, and line employees on Rules and Regulations, Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, and Job Expectations.
• Fill in as back-up Supervisor when needed.
• Supervise day-to-day operations of assigned area or workgroup to ensure organizational and objectives are met.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

Safety Protocol:

• Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
• Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
• Support safety policies and programs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership and direction to the Production team.
• Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
• Interviews, hires, and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; appraises performance; rewards and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Three years of experience, preferably in a food, pharmaceutical, nutritional supplement or a dry products company in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
• Experience working with automated manufacturing preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.

• Capable of interaction at all levels of the organization.
• People leadership experience preferred. Demonstrated ability to effectively influence others.
• Knowledge of equipment qualification, facilities, preventative maintenance and calibration programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to foresee problems or issues before they arise and select the best course of action to prevent and/or resolve the problem.
• Ability to work as part of a team with members across the organization.
• Ability to lead operators daily, including coaching and mentoring operators.
• Ability to provide feedback and insight to management regarding the daily operations of the production department.
• Strong project management abilities
