Job summary

Ourvita is seeking a Mixer for production and blending operations in Minnesota. The role involves weighing, blending, labeling, and moving finished products while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The position offers a base pay of $24.46 per hour with a quarterly bonus, standard 5S cleanliness, and opportunities for growth within a manufacturing-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year related field experience or equivalent.
  • Food & beverage or pharmaceutical experience a plus.
  • Reliable transportation to travel between buildings (2 miles apart).

Responsibilities

  • Accurately complete batch records and logbooks for blending and cleaning.
  • Operate blenders and related accessories.
  • Use scales, charge walk-behind lifts, and verify items staged.
  • Pre-weigh and blend lots; label items properly.
  • Move drums and totes of finished product to correct locations.
  • Observe product and equipment for defects and report issues.
  • Follow GMP, SOPs, and lockout/tag out rules; report safety concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area to 5S standards.
  • Other duties as assigned; operate forklift as needed.

Schedule

Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

To weigh and combine ingredients, in accordance with batch record instructions, in mixer and blend for a final product.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Accurately complete batch records and logbooks used for blending and cleaning (dry/full) and all equipment used in the process.
  • Proper operation of all blenders, plus associated accessories.
  • Proper use of scales and checking/charging walk behind lifts daily.
  • Verifying items staged are correct.
  • Pre-weighing/blending lots correctly and in a timely manner along with correctly labeling all items.
  • Move drums and totes of finished product to proper location.
  • Observe product and machine operation to detect defects or machine malfunction during production run. Call maintenance with any concerns about equipment issues.
  • Resolve minor problems that may arise with the mixing operation.
  • Comply with all company safety, GMP's, SOP's and lockout/tag out rules. Report any safety issues or concerns.
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines and work area to 5S Standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.
  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.
  • Support safety policies and programs.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One (1) year related field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Food & beverage or pharmaceutical experience a plus.
  • Small company (<500) experience a plus
  • Equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered.
  • Reliable transportation to occasionally drive between buildings (2 miles apart.)

  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as technical documentation, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Moderate mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and superiors.
  • Ability to work with basic mathematical concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out interactions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to define problems and establish facts.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to manage time when deadlines need to be met.
  • Must be 18 years old to operate machinery.
