Johnson Controls, Inc. in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Associate Product Engineer to bridge engineering decisions and manufacturing execution, ensuring BOMs, item masters, released drawings, and ECN dates are accurately translated and released.

This entry-level role offers hands-on experience with complex products and manufacturing processes, and a path to a Product Engineer with increasing technical responsibility and product ownership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering, or engineering technology.
• 1–2 years hands-on experience creating or maintaining bills of materials in a manufacturing environment.
• Working experience with an ERP / MRP system (SAP, MAPICS, or equivalent) for BOM, item master, or engineering change transactions.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and relate drawing content to BOM structure.

Responsibilities

• Own the BOM accuracy and parameters; verify against drawings and ECN before release.
• Follow changes to the floor and confirm implementation as planned.
• Learn design intent and bring questions to Product Engineers.
• Manage concurrent changes with clear tracking and visibility.
• Communicate with assemblers, planners, buyers, and engineers; escalate risks early.
• Apply structured problem-solving tools to identify and fix recurring data/process errors.
