Johnson Controls is seeking an Associate Product Engineer in San Antonio, TX. You will be the bridge between engineering decisions and manufacturing, ensuring BOMs and item master data reflect approved changes and release drawings and dates accurately.

The role develops deep product knowledge while partnering with engineering and manufacturing to implement improvements and foster long‑term growth within the Product Engineering career path.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a mechanical/industrial/manufacturing field or engineering technology.
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience creating or maintaining BOMs in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, MAPICS, or equivalent) for BOMs.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and relate to BOM structure.
• Preferred: experience in engineering change, configuration management, or document control.
• Exposure to PLM systems and EBOM/MBOM structures.
• Familiarity with HVAC, refrigeration, or complex mechanical equipment.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish.

Responsabilités

• Own the accuracy of every BOM line and parameter; ensure changes align with drawings and ECNs.
• Follow changes through to the floor and confirm implementation as planned.
• Learn design intent behind changes and ask questions to engineers.
• Manage multiple concurrent changes with clear tracking and visibility.
• Communicate with assemblers, planners, buyers, and engineers; escalate risks early.
• Apply structured problem‑solving tools (5 Why, fishbone, A3) to fix recurring data issues.
