Job summary

Johnson Controls seeks a Mechanical Product Engineer III to drive development from concept through manufacturing, leading design changes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions. Based at the Advanced Development & Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA, this role offers relocation assistance and a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering required.
• 3+ years experience in a related field required.
• Fundamental understanding of fluid and thermal principles including refrigeration cycle.
• Proficient with 3D CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Maintains understanding of theories, concepts, technical principles and processes related to mechanical aspects of water-cooled chillers.
• Conceptualize and implement design ideas into the product.
• Work with design and drafting groups to generate layouts and configurations.
• Contribute to on-time completion of programs and report status.
• Generate technical documentation for internal use.
• Prepare and execute test programs to verify performance and reliability.
• Analyze and troubleshoot mechanical sub-systems based on test data.
• Apply mechanical codes such as UL, CE, PED, ASHRAE, and ASME.
• Understand manufacturing processes and design for manufacturing.
• Foster continuous improvement and teamwork in a global environment.
