Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Power System Studies Engineer with 1-4 years of experience to join the Power System Studies team. The ideal candidate should have knowledge of distribution system design concepts and analyses, including short circuit, load flow, and DER impact analysis, along with system modeling software.

The role offers hybrid work options and a focus on client coordination, teamwork, and ongoing professional development within an ESOP-owned company.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and at least 1 year of related work experience.
  • Experience in distribution system planning studies and short circuit/load flow analyses.
  • Knowledge of distribution system design concepts and system modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Python or similar scripting for analytics.
  • Ability to work in a team and communicate with clients and team members.

Responsibilities

  • Learn and apply departmental design guides and standards to tasks.
  • Develop engineering deliverables and perform calculations per standard methods.
  • Coordinate with project leadership and other teams on projects.
  • Support business development or pursuit activities as needed.
  • Mentor entry level professionals and interns.
