Job summary

Ciena is seeking an Associate Services Project Manager in the United States to lead project implementations within customer networks. You will ensure scope, schedules, quality objectives, and service margins are met while collaborating with multiple teams and managing communications and risks.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, up to 12 months of relevant experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Project and Salesforce. PRINCE2 or PMP certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Ability to apply critical thinking and analysis to multidimensional problems and generate solutions.
• Judgment and decision-making across multiple alternatives.
• Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate project activities.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix organization with multiple stakeholders.
• Experience using Microsoft Project and Salesforce project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead project implementation activities within customer networks.
• Ensure project scope, schedules, deliverables, quality objectives, and service margin targets are achieved.
• Analyze project proposals to determine timelines, funding limitations, and execution approaches.
• Identify, schedule, and track deliverables, milestones, tasks, and project communications.
• Document and communicate project status, risks, obstacles, and resolutions to management.
• Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation plans.
• Coordinate with Customer Operations, Sales, Bid Management, Service Delivery, Finance, and other stakeholders to achieve project and financial objectives.
