Associate Mechanical Engineer

Salary Range: $71,000 – $124,000 per year.

Responsibilities
  • Design parts and assemblies, as directed, ensuring ease of manufacture and assembly based on company guidelines and tooling standards.
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing and assembly related problems.
  • Create complete detail drawings using accepted drafting symbols and conventions.
  • Compile and generate parts lists and bills of materials for new products; analyze engineering change requests and implement engineering change orders.
  • Use engineering department software (CAD, word processors, spreadsheets, MRB programs, scheduling software) proficiently.
  • Program, fixture, set up, and use CNC equipment to create and modify parts and prototypes; perform basic and automated machine testing, extract test data, and document machine usability or limitations.
  • Define and communicate product‑related information to other functional groups, including product specifications, release schedules, and service bulletins.
  • Source and approve new vendors, evaluating vendor capacity, quality, and compliance, and resolving delivery and quality issues.
  • Procure parts for prototypes and production through the purchasing department or own channels, maintaining records and processing paperwork in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow instructions, procedures, and policies, escalating issues that impact workflow, quality, or safety.
  • Exhibit honesty, integrity, and adherence to rules, procedures, and policies.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • 0–5% travel required.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS/BFA/BSA) in Mechanical Engineering or related field from a four‑year college or university (required); additional related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience is also required.
  • Mechanical Engineering major preferred.
  • 2–4 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in calculation of figures and amounts (discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume) and application of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry.
  • Logical and scientific reasoning ability, including problem solving with formulas, equations, graphs, and abstract variables.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations.
  • Physical capability to perform the duties described below.

  • Experience in product development, part design, and prototype assembly.
  • Experience with CAD software and engineering change management.
  • Experience in vendor management and procurement.
