Job summary

Amgen’s New Albany, Ohio site is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician (6PM to 6AM) to provide technical engineering support for system optimization, upgrades, and compliance with CFRs and FDA standards. The role progresses from a 1–2 month day shift to a 12-hour PM 2-2-3 shift as operations scale, with opportunities to join a 24-hour team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• Associate’s degree with 4 years of Technical Engineering experience.
• High school diploma or GED with 6 years of Technical Engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• Complete advanced maintenance activities or operate and monitor plant equipment per CFRs, cGMPs, SOPs.
• Use PLC and HMI software tools to diagnose and troubleshoot automated manufacturing equipment.
• Coordinate tech support on engineering, regulatory, calibration, quality, microbial/environmental, technical cleaning, validation, electrical and process automation issues.
• Assist during regulatory inspections and respond to the FDA and other regulatory agencies.
• Maintain an up-to-date spare parts inventory for equipment/systems.
• Evaluate and optimize maintenance procedures, troubleshoot and repair failures.
• Interpret P&ID drawings and support non-standard shifts including weekends/holidays.

Education

Bachelor’s degree
