Job summary

Amgen in New Albany, OH is seeking an Automation Maintenance Technician (6PM to 6AM) to provide technical engineering support for system optimization, upgrades, replacements, and modifications in a 24-hour operation.

You will work with PLC/HMI tools to diagnose issues, ensure compliance with CFRs, cGMPs, FDA and SOPs, and collaborate across maintenance, quality and regulatory teams to keep the packaging plant running safely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Associate’s degree plus 4 years of technical engineering experience.
• High school diploma or GED plus 6 years of technical engineering experience.
• Experience with PLC/SCADA in pharmaceutical, medical device or biotech industries.

Responsibilities

• Complete advanced maintenance activities on complex plant equipment.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot using PLC and HMI software.
• Coordinate tech support on engineering, regulatory, and calibration issues.
• Assist during regulatory inspections and provide FDA-facing support.
• Maintain spare parts inventory for equipment and systems.
• Evaluate and improve maintenance procedures for optimization.
• Review P&ID’s and utility/process system plans.
• Support 24-hour operations including non-standard shifts.
