Job Summary

We are seeking an Associate Engineer for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Caguas, PR within the medical devices and supplies industry. This role is ideal for an early-career engineering professional who wants to grow in a technical manufacturing environment while contributing to electrical, software, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering initiatives.

The Associate Engineer will support complex manufacturing engineering tasks, help identify and resolve technical issues, and collaborate with peers, mentors, and cross-functional teams. This opportunity offers exposure to regulated manufacturing operations, technical problem-solving, process improvement, and verification/validation activities. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and take ownership of assigned manufacturing engineering technical tasks within a specific technical discipline.
• Support complex engineering activities that may involve multiple coordinated process, system, or equipment elements.
• Anticipate, identify, and evaluate key manufacturing issues, then recommend effective technical resolutions.
• Apply engineering knowledge to improve manufacturing operations, support business objectives, and strengthen process performance.
• Participate in peer reviews to validate task approach, technical rationale, and verification/validation activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and technical teams to ensure solutions align with broader system requirements.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay range: $21 to $22 per hour.
• Job type: Temp-to-hire.
• Position classification: Exempt.
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM, 2nd shift.
• Location: Caguas, PR.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Lead assigned manufacturing engineering technical tasks and support project execution.

• Support engineering initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 0 to 2 years of experience in an engineering discipline, with early-career engineering experience appropriate for this level.
• Understanding of technical engineering principles related to manufacturing operations.
• Ability to apply creative thinking when precedent may not exist.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to consider the impact of technical changes on related systems and processes.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to work with peers, mentors, and cross-functional teams.
• Proactive approach to ownership, follow-through, and technical task leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Internship, co-op, or professional experience in medical device, electronics, electromechanical, or regulated manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to manufacturing process improvement, equipment support, or production engineering.
• Familiarity with verification/validation activities or technical documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with changing priorities.
