Qualifications

• 5+ years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical, manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, motors, instrumentation, and automated production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems from 120V to 480V.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, conveyors, pumps, mixers, and automated systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
• Install, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation, controls, electrical components, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings to support repairs and improvements.
• Follow safety, environmental, and regulatory procedures, including Lockout/Tagout, hazardous energy control, and chemical handling requirements.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electro Mechanic to join a chemical manufacturing environment in Chicago, IL. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for an electro-mechanical maintenance professional who enjoys hands‑on troubleshooting, equipment reliability, and keeping production operations running safely and efficiently.

In this role, you will support a safety‑focused operation where maintenance, production, and engineering teams work closely together to solve problems, improve equipment performance, and reduce downtime. The position offers steady second‑shift hours, competitive hourly pay, and the opportunity to contribute to a stable manufacturing environment that values teamwork, technical skill, and dependable support from experienced leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems on production equipment.
• Diagnose and repair motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, sensors, conveyors, pumps, mixers, and automated systems.
• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.

Compensation and Benefits

• Direct hire opportunity.
• Pay range: $42 to $43 per hour.
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM CST.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Maintain and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment in a chemical, processing, or industrial manufacturing environment.
• Support preventive maintenance, emergency repairs, and equipment reliability initiatives.
• Diagnose electrical systems, motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, instrumentation, pumps, conveyors, and automated production systems.
• Partner with production, engineering, and maintenance teams on root‑cause analysis and corrective actions.
• 5+ years of electro-mechanical maintenance experience in a chemical, manufacturing, processing, or industrial environment.
• Hands‑on experience troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, motors, instrumentation, and automated production equipment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems from 120V to 480V.
• Solid understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of industrial safety practices, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Electromechanical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
• Experience working in a chemical manufacturing or industrial processing environment.
• Experience supporting equipment improvement projects and reliability‑focused maintenance programs.
