Fitch Group seeks an Engineering & Quality – Associate Director in our New York office to lead a high‑performing software engineering team and shape cloud‑native platforms powering data‑driven products. You will partner with business and architecture leaders to drive technical strategy, architecture, and secure delivery of backend services and APIs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of software engineering with 3–5 years leading teams.
• Experience delivering enterprise‑scale software platforms.
• Strong proficiency in C++, Java (Spring Boot), and/or Python.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Cloud‑native architectures and AWS.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL tuning.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, security, and scalability.
• Experience CI/CD and automated testing.
• Proven leadership in agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a high‑performing software engineering team.
• Partner with Data Product, CDO, Architecture and Business leaders to define technical strategy.
• Provide hands‑on technical leadership for design, development, and delivery of backend services and APIs.
• Drive architecture decisions and champion best practices for scalability and reliability.
• Guide teams in building services enabling enterprise data platforms and business capabilities.
