Fitch Group in New York seeks a Director, Solutions Architecture to lead architecture partner work with engineering squads, shaping patterns and governance across the line of business.

This hands-on role guides technology evaluation, ARB, and agentic development, with no direct reports, relying on influence, credibility, and collaboration to drive scalable AI-enabled solutions.

Qualifications

• Deep technical architecture experience across backend/distributed systems.
• Hands-on agentic AI experience with production workflows.
• Influence-based leadership across teams without direct authority.
• Customer-facing mindset focusing on engineers as customers.
• Governance at scale with tech standards adoption across teams.
• Track record driving AI adoption among engineering teams.
• Technical debt and dependency management across codebases.

Responsibilities

• Provide architecture guidance to engineering squads in your line of business.
• Support ARB and JAD sessions to validate designs early.
• Build agents powering technology evaluation, PR review, and ARB submissions.
• Translate standards into concrete, actionable guidance for engineers.
• Prototype patterns with working examples before adoption.
• Partner with engineering leads to tailor guidance per squad context.
• Champion AI-based development and agentic workflows across teams.
• Drive down technical liabilities via the Tech Roadmap and dependencies graph.
• Automate upgrades and modernization pipelines to keep systems current.
• Own reference architectures and reference code for reuse across teams.
