Job summary

Merck is seeking an Associate Director to lead the Patient Support Program Strategy for an individualized therapy, coordinating enrollment, consent, and data strategies to optimize patient access and experience.

You will partner with cross-functional teams and external vendors to design scalable hub services, affordability solutions, and governance frameworks, driving successful program launches and adherence to compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years in pharma/biotech or healthcare with patient services, access, affordability, or hub strategy.
• Experience designing and optimizing patient support programs and hub services.
• Strong understanding of payer dynamics, benefits verification, prior authorization, and enrollment.
• Experience with affordability program design, copay structures, and financial assistance.
• Experience enrolling and handling data strategies including PHI/privacy considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve PSP strategy, service model, and capabilities including affordability services and workflows.
• Design enrollment and multi-consent processes for patient services participation and data collection.
• Define hub governance, brand-specific rules, workflows, and escalation pathways.
• Develop and oversee affordability strategy and copay program structures.
• Translate strategy into operational execution with vendors for services and workflows.
• Support vendor selection and manage hub and affordability partner performance.
• Establish performance metrics and reporting for program optimization and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with Market Access, Legal, Privacy, Compliance, and Data teams for compliant launches.
