Merck & Co., Inc. in the U.S. seeks a Senior Director, Team Lead for U.S. Medical Affairs, Payers & Health Systems. This remote role leads field-based Medical Affairs Directors, shaping payer and health-system engagement and ensuring strategic execution across the MA portfolio.

The role requires advancing medical account planning, collaboration with HQ and regional teams, and driving high-quality scientific exchange while maintaining regulatory and ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Advanced health-care/science doctoral degree required (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD).
• Three+ years in a customer-facing, field medical-affairs role or relevant experience.
• Deep knowledge of health-systems environment (payers, IDN) and medical account management principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of field-based Medical Affairs Directors (PHS MADs).
• Oversee portfolio product launches and medical affairs plans.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Country MA, V&I GMVC and V&I OR to align medical activities with plans.
• Manage budget, resource allocation and cross-functional collaboration across national accounts.
