Job summary

Humana is seeking an Associate Director of Segment Quality Engineering to lead quality engineering across a defined set of products and agile teams. You will partner with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, and enterprise QA teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC and improve release confidence, speed, and stability.

You will drive automation adoption, oversee defect management, and ensure production readiness while aligning with the segment quality strategy and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in software/quality engineering.
• 8+ years in software engineering, quality engineering, testing, or related fields.
• 3+ years leading quality engineering or delivery teams in enterprise environments.
• Experience leading QA activities across multiple agile teams.
• Proven automation, process improvement, and metrics-driven execution.
• Strong Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with API, UI, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and modern architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering execution for a defined set of applications or teams.
• Manage and develop quality engineers and SDETs; ensure team performance.
• Implement quality standards and governance across segment and enterprise.
• Drive quality planning across functional, integration, regression, and release validation.
• Partner with leaders to embed quality in planning and development.
• Oversee defect management, triage, trends, and corrective actions.
• Support release readiness assessments for production deployments.
• Advance automation adoption with regression coverage and efficiency gains.
• Integrate automated validations into CI/CD pipelines.
• Coordinate non-functional quality support (performance, resiliency, security).
• Monitor quality metrics, delivery trends, and production outcomes.
• Escalate risks to Director leadership and drive improvements.
• Contribute to modernization with enterprise tools and reusable frameworks.
• Promote AI-enabled quality engineering and innovative practices.
