Job summary

Biogen is seeking an Associate Director of Data Science & AI to lead ML and predictive analytics for the U.S. Commercial function. You will collaborate across Insights & Analytics, Enterprise Data Management, IT, and Medical Affairs to deliver evidence-based business insights.

You will mentor data scientists, shape data-driven strategies, and drive innovative solutions that accelerate commercial growth in biotech. Strong leadership and communication are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in data science, CS, statistics, or a related field.
• 8+ years in data science, analytics, or AI.
• 5+ years enabling US Commercial pharma/biotech operations.
• 3+ years leading technical teams or large cross-functional initiatives.
• Strong Python and SQL skills.
• Experience with Databricks, Snowflake, and Power BI.
• Knowledge of IQVIA, Symphony Health, Veeva, Komodo, or claims/EHR data.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, validation, and deployment of ML and analytics solutions for US Commercial.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI to insights into patient populations and provider behavior.
• Establish best practices for model development, governance, and monitoring.
• Develop analytics and AI to generate actionable insights into patient/provider behavior.
• Create predictive models for patient identification, treatment initiation, and provider engagement.
• Integrate and analyze claims, EHR, and commercial data to improve access and effectiveness.
• Partner with Commercial, Medical Affairs, and Insights & Analytics to translate insights into strategies.
• Communicate complex findings to executives and cross-functional teams.
• Lead and mentor data scientists, fostering innovation.
• Manage external vendors and consulting partners as needed.
• Operate in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment with high-quality execution.
