Job summary

Howard University is seeking an Associate Director of the One Stop Student Services Center to lead daily operations, supervise nine staff, and ensure seamless, student-centered service across financial aid, student accounts, registration and records.

This in-person role partners with the Director and campus units to streamline processes, leverage data, and continuously improve the student experience while ensuring compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in higher education services or related administrative functions.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Understanding of student information systems, registration, financial aid, and student accounts.
• Strong organizational, problem solving and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; on-campus full-time availability.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the One Stop Center ensuring seamless, efficient, student-centered service delivery across financial aid, student accounts, registration and records.
• Directly supervise professional staff including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluation.
• Implement service protocols, quality standards and performance metrics for timely resolution of inquiries.
• Collaborate with the Director and campus partners to streamline processes and improve the student experience.
• Leverage technology, data and analytics to identify efficiencies and recommend improvements.
• Maintain a visible presence, address student concerns, and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Communicate clearly with students through multiple channels (web, email, print, in-person).
