Job summary

Biogen seeks an Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison in the Nephrology space. This field-based role serves as the primary commercial liaison to KMEs, transplant centers, and nephrology stakeholders, shaping account readiness and advocacy strategies across current and future indications.

You will collaborate with marketing, medical affairs, market access, and sales leadership to inform strategy and launch readiness, with a strong focus on external engagement and compliant customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 7 years of marketing, field sales, field marketing or Thought Leader Liaison experience; field marketing/Thought Leader Liaison experience preferred.
• Rare Disease and/or nephrology field-based experience required.
• Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to collaborate and influence across diverse stakeholders.
• Strong curiosity and commitment to expanding disease-state, customer, and healthcare ecosystem knowledge.
• Exceptional listening, insight-generation, and analytical skills to translate insights into recommendations.
• Entrepreneurial, self-starter with ability to partner with clinicians, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage competing priorities across a large geography and travel 60-70%.

Responsibilities

• Gather insights to inform the marketing strategy and commercial content development for current and future disease states.
• Create regional commercial plans to move key accounts through the adoption continuum, working compliantly with cross-functional partners.
• Gather insights regarding account practices and stakeholder perspectives and communicate relevant insights internally.
• Identify opportunities and barriers that may impact account adoption, patient access and advocacy development.
• Identify, profile, and engage KMEs regionally and nationally within transplant and nephrology communities.
• Serve as primary commercial liaison for KME engagement activities including advisory boards and educational initiatives.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships to inform therapeutic-area planning and engagement objectives.
• Expand engagement beyond KMEs to broader stakeholder networks.
• Gather, synthesize, and communicate actionable field insights related to customer needs and market dynamics.
• Translate stakeholder feedback into strategic recommendations for marketing, launch planning, and customer engagement.
• Provide timely updates to leadership on progress, advocacy trends, and market dynamics.
• Ensure documentation of insights through approved systems and processes.
• Support regional and national congress planning and speaker program execution post-approval.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen presence with professional societies and stakeholder communities.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration with marketing, medical, sales, operations, and compliance.
