Job summary

The University of Southern Indiana is seeking an Associate Director of Student Leadership and Service to provide strategic leadership for leadership development programming, service initiatives, and co-curricular learning recognition.

This role supervises the Assistant Director of Student Activities and Traditions and collaborates with campus partners to integrate leadership learning across the student experience.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in student personnel, counseling and development, higher education, or similar field.
• 3-5 years of related work experience.
• Ability to stimulate student interest and involvement.
• Maintains strong organizational, time management, and written and verbal communication skills.
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize departmental needs.
• Ability to manage multiple demands in a setting of high student contact and interaction.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the four-year leadership development program: curriculum design, assessment, recruitment and evaluation.
• Plan and execute two annual leadership retreats, including a first-year retreat.
• Supervise the Assistant Director of Student Activities and Traditions.
• Manage retreats logistics: site, vendors, transportation, budgeting, risk management, registration.
• Recruit and retain participants in leadership programs.
• Coordinate the Harolyn Torrain Leadership Scholar Program from application to daily management.
