Job summary

Butler University seeks an Associate Director of Student Activities to support and develop over 200 student organizations, focusing on leadership curriculum and co-curricular programs that enhance wellbeing and engagement. You will collaborate with campus stakeholders to advance holistic student development.

The role emphasizes risk mitigation, policy compliance, and providing training resources, with oversight of the Butler Engage platform and supervision of leadership consultants.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education, or related field and 2+ years of related experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
• Experience advising college students.
• Understanding of college student development theory.
• Experience ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures in event planning, travel and operations.
• Expertise planning and implementing skill-based training and leadership development programming.
• Strong command of Engage, EMS, social media and other online tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee administrative leadership training for 200+ student organizations.
• Deliver and evaluate leadership curriculum and initiatives from the Office of Student Activities.
• Support recognized student organizations and guide them in events, risk management, policy compliance, and resource access.
• Oversee Butler Engage and monitor involvement opportunities in the software.
• Supervise and mentor Student Leadership Consultants delivering BU|BeWell programs.
• Develop, implement and assess student organization policies focusing on risk mitigation.
• Plan and assess annual Student Involvement Fair and other co-curricular opportunities.
• Collaborate with faculty and staff to expand student involvement and development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned.
