Job summary

Stellaromics, a Boston-based biotech startup, seeks an Associate Director, Information Technology to own and build IT. This hands-on role administers systems, manages storage/compute, runs the security program, and defines policies and controls to grow while protecting IP.

You will collaborate across R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, HR and Legal to turn policy into practice, lead IT initiatives across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, and maintain an onsite presence at our Boston

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years managing IT operations, infrastructure, or security.
• 2+ years of IT experience in biopharma, biotech, genomics, or another life sciences environment, with regulated or GxP systems.
• Hands-on ownership of large-scale data storage (multi-terabyte to petabyte-scale).
• Strong practical cyber security experience: IAM, endpoint security, vulnerability management, incident response.
• Experience drafting IT policies, procedures, and controls in evolving environments.
• Proven IT vendor and budget management, including contract negotiation and SLAs.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing without direct authority.
• Solid working knowledge of cloud platforms, networking, virtualization, and modern endpoint/identity management.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Own storage and compute footprint across cloud and on-premises, including multi-terabyte datasets.
• Run the security program: identity, access, endpoint protection, and incident response.
• Lead IT governance, policies, procedures, and budget planning.
• Partner with R&D, Manufacturing, Commercial, Finance, HR and Legal to adopt policies.
