Job summary

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) seeks an Associate Director to help run the Family Shelter in Chittenden County, Vermont. You will work under the Program Director to ensure efficient shelter operations and move families into permanent housing.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s in social/human services and strong supervisory skills, with experience in homelessness and housing advocacy. Flexibility for evenings and weekends is expected as part of a dedicated team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social or human services or equivalent experience.
• Strong supervisory, management and training skills.
• Experience with homelessness and affordable housing.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operations of the Family Shelter with Program Director.
• Supervise Housing Advocates, Interns, Volunteers and special projects.
• Provide leadership in absence of Program Director.
• Ensure housing plans are used to move families to permanent housing.
• Ensure staff and guests adhere to program policies.
