Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity seeks an Associate Director to help run the Foundations Family Shelter, a 24/7 facility for 8 to 10 families with children experiencing homelessness.

You will supervise Housing Advocates, Interns, Volunteers and special projects, provide leadership in the Program Director’s absence, and ensure staff follow housing/case management plans to move families into permanent housing.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social/human services.
• Strong supervisory, management and training abilities.
• Experience with homelessness programs and housing policy.

The Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity (CVOEO) has exciting opportunities for you to make a meaningful impact in our community by joining our team at our Foundations Family Shelter. Foundations Family Shelter is a 24/7 shelter for 8 to 10 families with children experiencing homelessness. The Family Shelter offers temporary shelter, housing advocacy and services with the goal of assisting families to find permanent housing.

Working with the Program Director, the Associate Director will assist in overseeing the operations of the Family Shelter and supervise the Housing Advocates, Interns, Volunteers and special projects. Provide leadership and direction in the absence of the Program Director. Ensure that housing advocates are using the housing / case management plans to move families quickly out of shelter and into permanent housing. Ensure staff and guests are adhering to all program policies and procedures.

Rate of pay: $70,973.00 - $74,006.00 per year

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social or human services or combination of education and experience from which comparable skills and knowledge are acquired. The successful candidate will have strong supervisory, management and training skills; a demonstrated history of success in working with people experiencing homelessness and in program development; and an in-depth knowledge of the causes and effects of homelessness, affordable housing, poverty, economic justice and multiple oppressions affecting economically vulnerable groups. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
