Job summary

Chewy, Inc. is seeking an experienced Associate Director of Construction to lead a team delivering capital projects across Fulfillment Centers, Pharmacies, and Corporate Hubs in Bellevue, WA.

You will oversee 15–25 concurrent projects, from preconstruction to closeout, with accountability for scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety. The role requires owner-side construction expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to drive results through others.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 10+ years of progressive construction management experience, including owner-side representation.
• 5+ years of direct people management experience creating high-performing teams.
• Experience leading a large portfolio of concurrent construction projects from preconstruction to closeout.
• Strong commercial judgment in contracts, negotiations, change orders, and dispute resolution.
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, design management, estimating, permitting, contracting, and project delivery.
• Demonstrated financial acumen in capital budgeting, cost forecasting, value engineering, and change management.
• Proven leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills at senior levels.
• Willingness to travel to project sites up to 60%.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Design & Construction Managers, setting expectations and fostering ownership.
• Oversee a portfolio of 15–25 concurrent construction projects with scope, budget, schedule, quality, and safety accountability.
• Manage full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout via the team.
• Drive financial performance through disciplined budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Manage external partners including architects, engineers, GCs, and consultants.
• Partner with Real Estate, Facilities, Operations, Engineering, Procurement, Finance, and other stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate risks; communicate performance and escalations to senior leadership.
• Establish governance, reporting, and financial controls for portfolio consistency.
• Ensure operational readiness and regulatory compliance at project handover to business operations.
