Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University seeks a motivated Associate Director of Academic Success & Bar Preparation at University Park to manage and analyze all academic success and bar prep programs, working with JD and LLM students, law faculty, and university offices.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to any state bar.
• 2+ years of relevant experience in legal practice or higher education.
• Meaningful experience or demonstrated potential in teaching, tutoring, providing academic skills workshops, or training.

Responsibilities

• Help prepare and provide instruction in academic success courses and workshops in University Park.
• Counsel JD and LLM students through one-on-one and small group meetings.
• Provide academic skills advising and instruction for University Park students.
• Oversee the tutoring program in collaboration with the Director and coordinate with HR, student organizations, and faculty.
• Support bar preparation courses by meeting with students, managing attendance, guest-teaching, and grading.
• Create and maintain a webpage with bar admission information and resources.
• Oversee the collection of bar exam results and draft the ABA Bar Questionnaire.
• Advise students on courses to take and how to maximize their law school experiences.
• Refer students to Academic & Student Services and counseling resources.
• Attend events and travel between Carlisle and University Park.
• Additional duties may be assigned.
